In the winter of 1994, I was pregnant and feeling creative and very adamant about hand-making all of my holiday gifts. So I bought a big pot and beeswax, some flowers I hand picked and pressed, and started dipping in my kitchen. The response was inspirational with the support of family and friends, my cottage creations grew into a sustainable endeavor.
I am still at home in the Santa Cruz mountains hand-dipping each candle in sacred beeswax and picking and pressing each flower.
Every candle is made and packaged with care and intention and a bit of childs energy: When my son was about 2 years old, he came out back and said “Mommy, you’re making Laughing Candles,” and so we were named.
